Oxford Indiana reports thousands attended the fourth annual reunion of the Pioneers' association of Union and Franklin counties. Willis Milton Thomas of Franklin County won the oldest man cane, and Mrs. Sarah A. Snyder the oldest woman spectacles. Officers elected: President William Beniows, vice presidents Truman C. Schools Busses To Be Lettered In Oxford Township

Oxford Ohio August 29 The township board of education met with eight school vehicle drivers to discuss adding front and rear lettering Oxford Township Schools on each side of buses. The aim is to prevent accidents by making buses clearly visible while loading and unloading children and to urge legislation for similar safeguards as streetcar rules.

Miami Men To Try For Football Team Leaders

George B. Little, Miami University athletics director and famed coach, returned from Nashville where he taught in summer school. He voiced enthusiasm for the upcoming practice season and listed several hopefuls for football honors. Tom Munns of the village and Dick Wolf of Cleveland are slated to join as captain and star back, with expectations of a lighter, faster Miami squad this year.

Community Nurse to Arrive Thursday in Cleveland

Miss Bernading Smith of Cleveland recently elected Red Cross community nurse is expected to arrive this Thursday to begin duties. A graduate of Cincinnati General Hospital School of Nursing she is the niece of Dr H H Smith of South Main Street. She will reside with Mr and Mrs Edward Holter on West High Street during her assignment.

Major Coulter and Mrs. Coulter visited relatives in the village yesterday during a few hours stop while travelling by car from Camp Grant Chicago to Washington D C. Major Coulter had just been transferred there.

Judge Clarence Murphy Recovering After Operation

Judge Clarence Murphy, long in Chaint hospital, Chagiranti, is recovering from a major operation. He was assisted by Mia Murphy and a nurse when he left Saturday morning for Charlevoix, Michigan. A telegram Sunday afternoon said he had a setback but is now in good spirits and on the road to full recovery.

Sarah Cohen Wins Fine Scholarship At Meeting

At a Thursday church meeting a vote will select a candidate for the pulpit at High Street Church of Christ to fill the vacancy left by Rev. Charles I. Line. Rev. Asa Daniels, new Lindenwaldeburgh pastor, arrives Wednesday to assume duties. The event includes a prayer service and Daniels will preach next Sunday after a $3,000 scholarship prize was awarded to Sarah Cohen, a winner in a regional educational test conducted by a Cincinnati paper.

John G M Scherz age 40 of Carnation and Moss avenues Price Hill died early yesterday at Good Samaritan hospital. He was secretary of the National Association of Harness Manufacturers. The obituary note comes from Cincinnati Ohio dated August 29.
