Oxford College Names Blanch Armstrong Voice Department Head

Dr Eleanor Adame president of Oxford College for Women announces Mrs Blanch Neilssen Armstrong of Hillsdale Michigan as head of the voice department succeeding Miss Clara Bancroft who resigned. Armstrong trained in Europe and New York with noted maestros, sang with major New York orchestras, and taught fifteen years shaping tone placement breath control and dramatic elocution for a wide operatic and choral career.

Hold up at Osborn store in Oxford

Miss Willa A Osborn proprietor of a dry goods and grocery store was robbed on Saturday night as she walked from her shop to her North Poplar street home near the Methodist Episcopal church automobile lights from a nearby car reassured her but a small man in dark clothes grabbed a basket and escaped. She believed he sought money but her cash was in the basket not the wallet. No one injured. There is no show at the Oxford today. Theatres list Dorothy Dalton in The Idol of the North at Oxford and The Gilded Lily at the Oxford. Criterion presents Dorothy Dalton in The Idol of the Worth with matinee and Thursday to Saturday shows. Maurice Tourneur's She Genty Fair screens Thursday through Saturday.

Man Arrested in Louisville Over Raised Currency

A well known Hamilton figure W. W. Man of Xenia Ohio was arrested by secret service operatives in Louisville charged with passing raised bills on Rol Motor Company. The case stems from a July 27 deal when Man traded in his car for $260, with claims three 1 Dilla notes altered to $10 and a $2 bill changed to a note. Man says he did not know the bills were altered. He remains jailed.
