Hyde Park liquor dealers seek to curb over-imbibing by displaying photos of known drunkards behind bars. Bartenders are asked to request photos from wives or families, copies made, and posted on mirrors so sellers see if someone is a drinker. Prosecutions of two dealers by wives spurred the move.
The General Executive Board reports after 1,000 telegraphers voted to continue the strike, a message dated October 15, 1907 suspends S. J. Small from the office of president of the Commercial Telegraphers' Union of America, effective immediately.

Pittsburg would be headquarters, with the People's Natural Gas Company of Pittsburg as nucleus and name. Full operation expected before January 1.
