New Owner For Adair News and Casey Vindicator
Ed Littler Jr became sole owner of the Adair News and Casey Vindicator after partnering with his brother Robert since January 1, 1966. Charge Driver After Mishap Near Bayard
A 16 year old Coon Rapids youth, Thomas Keith McConnell, was charged with failure to have his car under control after his vehicle rolled on Highway 141 east of Bayard. Investigating officer Bill Springer stated McConnell attempted to turn north from 141, the car left the road, he was not injured and damage was about $800.

Bagley youths appeal guilty verdicts in district court
Two Bagley youths Steve Whitecotton and Steve Gardner appealed a JP court guilty ruling in Bayard Ken Robinson’s court. They were charged with disturbing the peace and Whitecotton faced a reckless driving charge. Each was fined 100 dollars plus costs on the peace charge, and Whitecotton received another 100 dollars on the driving charge. Bond was posted and they were released pending appeal.

The Guthrie County Youth Foundation will hold its annual meeting at the 5x80 club on Tuesday July 27 at 7 p.m. Directors from two county areas will be elected and officers named after a board meeting. The foundation offers three $100 scholarships for 16 to 23 year olds to attend a vocational training school next school year. Eligibility requires need proven by financial statements forms from the foundation and references. A scholar selection committee will review confidential documents and choose recipients who are expected to continue education or enter a trade and return to Guthrie County.
