Thieves Hit Hardware Store At Casey Sunday
A break-in at P and N Hardware in Casey was discovered by three boys who reported the access by a basement window and a broken door. Thieves took two cans a TZ and a 20 gauge shotgun several boxes of 22 caliber ammo tools and two radius entry items.

Fire destroys farm home near Guthrie Center
A fire swept through the Gilbert Wolff family farm home southwest of Guthrie Center Friday morning. Winds hindered efforts as flames consumed the upstairs, destroying clothing and personal possessions while leaving only a few salvageable items. The family escaped unharmed. one livestock animal was injured. The house was the worst blaze in the area since previous noted destruction last December.

ARC Drive Near End Total in Guthne County Fund Drive
Total collections for the Guthne County Association for Retarded Children Fund Drive have reached 178667 dollars in the county with the drive still not completed. It was reported the drive in Beaver Jackson Orange and Penn Stuart townships was not completed and the amount received from Stuart was not listed as the drive there is handled by the United Fund. Fire Fund Growing Hits $415
Within hours after Gil bert Wolff farm home was destroyed by fire Friday a fund drive had taken shape and by Saturday noon the amount reached $415.00. The drive is led by neighbors Mrs Sarah Henke and Mrs Ray Benton with help from Guthrie Center’s firemen’s Auxiliary. Contributions may be mailed to Guthrie County State Bank or left at the bank or with the organizers. A trailer house has been offered as temporary quarters by Mr and Mrs Jeff Morgan while plans for a new home are made.
