Funeral services held for Vernon Paul Mull
Vernon Paul Mull 18 of Greene High School died in a one car crash south of Charles City on September 25. Services were held September 28 at Bethany Alliance Church Charles City with Maurice McClun officiating. Burial followed at Sunnyside Memorial Gardens. He was born November 29 1958 in Mason City to Paul and Verna Mull and was active in Greene High School band and chorus and Bethany Alliance Church. Survivors include his parents a sister Linda Heinold and grandparents Mull and Scandrett. Hauser Funeral Home arranged services. The Butler County Bicentennial Commission plans a meeting October 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Allison.

Two Greene Community School seniors Bruce Markle and Barry Morgan earned Commended status from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their performance on the 1975 PSAT NMSQT. About 35 000 students nationwide receive this recognition, representing under 2 percent of high school seniors. Edward C. Funeral services were held for Henry F. Miller 72 of Greene September 29 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald Yahlgren officiating. Interment followed at Vilma Cemetery. Miller born September 7 1904 died September 27 at home in Greene. Surviving are Ila wife of Greene a daughter Harold Platte of Tripoli a son Darrell of Bristow and three grandchildren. Three sisters Will Miller Bristow Henry Voigts Greene and Leonard Steere Allison and one brother Ed Miller Bristow also survive.
