James H Graven obituary recalls Greene lawyer leader
James Howard S Graven born December 9, 1895 in Grogan Minnesota died October 1, 1976 in Greene Iowa while watching a Homecoming football game. A University of Minnesota alumnus and WWI veteran he formed Graven and Graven, then Graven and Wilson, later practicing alone until 1964 joining his son Norman. He was Greene’s first cub master and long active in scouting receiving the Silver Beaver and Lamb awards, served on Wartburg College board, Iowa Bar board, and various civic groups. He married Florence Feuerhelm in 1935 and left two sons Norman and Jim K with six grandchildren and numerous relatives.
