Football fans may see old classmates and the Ramblers in near full strength for the homecoming game. Fullback Darwin Ramker returns from a shoulder injury while Jerry Fischer’s knee should improve. Daryl Barnett is out for the season with a knee injury and will be replaced at end post.
Pete Timmer of Clear Lake earned his Master of Science degree in Botany at the University of Iowa convocation in Iowa City. His wife Glenda Landsgaard is completing her Master of Arts in music with one recital left before February graduation. Timmer teaches in Clear Lake and Mrs. Timmer teaches in Ventura.
M. Johnson, patient at Methodist Hospital in Rochester Minnesota, underwent surgery on Monday. He is assigned room 340.
Final plans for the Extension Fall Tea titled Music Fun For You are announced by Roberta Beckler County Extension Assistant. The event is at the Farm Bureau Auditorium Allison on Wednesday October 6 at 1 30 p m Max Exner Extension Music Specialist from Iowa State University Ames will discuss home music and club programs. Miss Reckler will outline 1966 Extension program lights and ideas for women club community projects. Local women’s clubs will display their community service projects and attendees may still contact the Allison extension office. Following the program the Extension Home Economics committee invites all to tea coffee and cookies and to view the auditorium displays.

Keith Walker aged 22 son of Mr and Mrs Douglas Walker of Greene has become assistant manager at J C Penney in Charles City. Formerly with Oliver Corporation he learned retail trade while at Trowbridge Center. A Charles City Community High School graduate he attended Mason City Junior College and the State College of Iowa Cedar Falls. He and his wife Janet have no children.
The State Conservation Commission announced the 19635 Goose season starts Saturday October 2 in Town. The 70 day season runs until December 10 with good hunting prospects. Wilsons snipe season opens October 2 and runs through November 20. Shooting is allowed from sunrise to sunset daily for geese or snipe.
Postville residents Mr and Mrs Roy Martin were injured in a two car crash one mile east of Greene Sunday afternoon. The Martins swerved to avoid Roger A Juhl Greene who was allegedly on the wrong side. Mr Martin suffered deep head lacerations, Mrs Martin chest and back injuries. They were admitted to Floyd County Veterans Memorial Hospital Charles City. Deputy Marvin Barth investigated and issued Juhl a summons for failing to yield half the traveled portion of the highway.
Mr and Mrs Robert Schafer announce the birth of a daughter at Floyd County Veterans Memorial Hospital Charles City on Thursday September 23. weighing 5 pounds 10 44 ounces Lisa Kay is welcomed by two sisters Rachelle age 5 and Brenda age 2.

One hundred twenty seven farmers attended the Pfister's Associated Growers dinner at the Veterans Club in Greene last Thursday noon. They later toured test plots on the Art Herman farm east of Greene. Company men included Tom Peterson of Waverly, PAG general manager. Ken Drendle of Aurora, head of product information. and Dale Poppe of Greene, PAG salesman.
Mrs Equamunt from Wenose Co visits in the Blair Moffett home in Illinois for several weeks.
Story Hour at the Greene Public Library will be held every Saturday afternoon starting October 2 from 1 15 to 2 o'clock. Children four years of age and over are welcome to attend. Please use the side door. Mrs. Robert Fischer is in charge.

With the filing deadline near, incumbent councilmen David Markle Leonard Nichol and Owen Adams along with Mayor W J Bamker filed to seek re election with city clerk Claire W Curtis. Douglas Walker Clarence Teeple and Levi Ackart also filed nomination papers, and more names are expected by October 5.
The House Administration Sub-Committee recommends dis missal of charges of election irregularities in Stephen M. Peterson’s defeat by Republican incumbent H. R. Gross in Iowa’s Third Congressional District.
Butler County Fair Association held its annual meeting at the bank building on September 18. The 196 County Fair was described as highly successful. Officers reelected: President K Brant, Vice President Virgil Shepard, and Treasurer Virgil Shepard. a secretary position is pending, with a new secretary to be named. New director Burdette Jackson of Shell Rock elected. Re elected directors include Floyd Weseel, Russell Har John Stock, Ray Hansen, J Winkey, Harry Wilder, Elm Framer, Jim Uhlenhopp, Bill Miller, J B Weires, Donald Haca, and Emmet Allan. The five day fair may be continued next year.
Dumont routed the reserves 37 to 0 as Tavlor returned a kickoff 55 yards for an early score and the game was played in alternating ice and heavy rain. Uhlenhopy Maifield and Taylor starred for the Dumont squad while Trees Whim Ruffridge and Behnke led the visitors.

The September induction filled by thirteen men on September 1 includes volunteer Timothy Connesarge of Ackley and draftees from Parkersburg Shell Rock and Allison. By branch nine enlisted for service in Navy Army and Air Force. The October draft call in Butler County lists nine men to depart October 4.
Jerry D. Thompson of Waterloo faced charges for operating a motor vehicle on a public highway without a license. He paid a 4000 dollar fine plus 400 dollars costs and a 10 dollar fine plus 4.90 dollars costs for failing to appear.
Greene and Riceville battled to a scoreless 0 to 0 tie amid wet field and strong defense. Key Rambler players Jeff Drake Larry Weichers John Barth Lynn Gabe and Craig Cheney anchored the effort while Riceville standouts Steve Duen Gary Koschmeder Duane Fox and Jim Mer contributed on defense and offense. Mrs Mery Brook assistant chairman of the Republican National Committee will tour all Iowa congressional districts October 11 to 13 with Mrs Mary Louise Smith Iowa national committeewoman. They will meet town Republicans discuss county vice chairmen precinct women and projects like Buck Night and Education for Action. The Mason City meeting is at the Public Library on October 13 at 2:00 p.m.
Mrs Hazel Ray was admitted to St Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City on Monday for observation and treatment.
