Butler County 4 H leaders met September 19 in the Farm Bureau Auditorium Mission to outline the fall community development program. Sire L Schmitt led the meeting and presentations cover community awareness travel patterns and local goods services needs. Plans include home environment topics Elements of Design Storage in Your Room Fun Fabric Furnishments energy usage and power sources. Officials reviewed 4 H awards new application system and state awards. discussed participation and judging at the Butler County Fair. Little Rams Fall to Nora Springs in Two Games
The Little Rams 8th grade team dropped two hard fought contests to Nora Springs. In the A game Greene Jr. His lost lead late, with Nora Springs scoring in the fourth quarter to pull away. Key plays included a safety by Joe Eggena and Jeff Eimers, and strong defense from Scott Spratt, Ryan Smith, and Eggena. The B game saw Nora Springs build a large first half lead, while the Little Mite Rams scored late on a Kevin Heitland to Tom Pyatt pass. Jay Majewski led ground gains and also kicked a 2 point PAT, with solid defense from Henricks and Christensen. Final scores: 168 for Nora Springs in the two games.

The Ramblerettes placed fifth at the Hudson Invitational Cross Country Meet held Sept 21. North High West Union led with 13, Crestwood 42, Hudson 34, BCI 68, and Greene 70. Julie Hams was sixth, Sherri Muhlenbruch earned a medal by finishing 16th, Vonnie Heitland 24th, Laura Harris 23rd. Greene JV took second with 49, Lisa Behrends eighth, Barb Markle ninth, Vicki Hertland 14th, Cindi Muhlen track 18th. Varsity headed to Crestwood Invitational Sept 28 with seven runners, five to count.
