Three Township Extension elections in Greene County will be held soon according to Kay Connelly. Caldwater Township votes Thursday November 1 at 8:00 p.m. in the Youth Center. Bennedette votes Tuesday November 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Aredale Methodist Church. Fremont votes Wednesday November 7 at 8:00 p.m. in the Bienemann School. Each meeting is a family night with 4-H programs, staff presentation, refreshments, and an Extension Council vote for a two year term.

Cancer Quota Exceeded In Butler County Iowa 1962
Butler County was among 48 Iowa counties exceeding their cancer crusade quota in 1962. Mrs Andrew Reid of Greene received a plaque from the American Cancer Society. The state meeting at Hotel Savery in Des Moines noted twenty five years of cancer control progress. Mrs Kenneth Shear led the ACS booth at the county fair. 313 attended and received literature. Former Druggist Stabbed In Hold-up Attempt
John Debner a 64 year old former druggist in Greene was stabbed during a hold up at his drug store at 515 E 5th St Waterloo shortly before noon on Friday. He was admitted to Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo where surgery was performed Friday evening. Waterloo police are checking accounts of several witnesses who may have seen the young man being sought. Debner was stabbed once in the abdomen.

Mantoux tuberculosis test to begin in Butler county
