Arrest of Russell Fisk for beer sales to minors in Greene

Russell Ardell Fisk, 26, of Greene, was arrested in Charles City on Tuesday afternoon October 23 by Deputy Marvin Barth on a charge of making beer available to minors. He appeared in Frank Knight's Court, bond set at 1500 dollars for the next term, and was released after bond was furnished. Fisk is accused of buying four six packs of beer on Saturday October 13 for five Greene boys aged 14 to 18.

Frank Lahey, 80, Dies in Wadena After Illness

Rites Held For Former Davenport Resident Louis Higgins

Louis Higgins 68 of Davenport died in a Davenport hospital after a short illness that began at a football game Friday. Born in Greene he was the son of Mathew and Mrs Higgins and lived in Davenport for years. Klassi Motors sponsored contest at the Athletic Field named winners by age group. Reverend Rhode Installed as Pastor at New Hampton Church

The Rev. John Rhode was installed as pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton on Sunday morning. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Earnest H Rhode of Manchester, former Greene residents. He previously served parishes in Ramona South Dakota and in Merrill and Dubuque Iowa. The Rhode family and their five children moved from Dubuque to New Hampton last week.
