Four Injured in Two-Car Crash Near Nashua
Four people were injured in a Wednesday crash at a rural Nashua intersection. Glenn H. Ikenberry, 75, drove a 1961 Dodge west and turned onto a gravel road into an eastbound 1969 Chevrolet driven by William R. Peterson, 41, of Waterloo. Peterson’s car burned after the collision. bystanders moved the vehicle, Nashua firefighters fought the blaze, and all injured were taken to Floyd County Memorial Hospital. Ikenberry suffered arm, chest, facial, and leg injuries. Leila Gate, 78, a passenger, had a broken arm and facial lacerations. Kenneth Tkenberry, 51, had a bruised nose and leg. Peterson remained in intensive care with a brain concussion and punctured lung. Vehicles sustained extensive damage.
