Greene Rams battled the conference leaders Riceville Friday night, forcing a 14 6 defeat. Riceville struck early on a fumble and a 5 play drive, then Lyons added a 9 yard TD pass from Wag Eschen. Greene’s Byron Davis kicked a 24 yard field goal after a late first half penalty moved the ball back, while the second half belonged to Greene with strong backfield play and several big gains. The defense contained Riceville to 28 rushing yards in the half as Rams rallied but could not complete the comeback. Coach praised team effort and Ram fans who supported the run. Michael Dunn attended the Iowa Bankers Convention in Des Moines along with other notable speakers.
