Retirement coffee honors Mrs Heddens in Greene
Mrs Elmer Heddens of Rr 3 Charles City retires November 1 after 44 years with United Telephone of Iowa. She started as an operator in 1928, rejoined in 1931, became cashier chief operator in 1963, and served as service representative since 1970. A retirement coffee is set for October 31 at 2 to 4 p.m. in Greene.

Rites Held for Mrs McCord and Infant Beattie
Mrs Anna McCord 87 died Monday October 14 in a Hampton nursing home. Funeral and graveside services were held in Alden and Gilman with survivors including two daughters Mrs Lowell McWilliams and Mrs Isadore Anduano and two sons James G. and Francis P. McCord.
