Local Women to Attend Girl Scout National Convention

Delegates and visitors from across the country will converge in Seattle Washington October 19 to 22 for the 38th Girl Scouts of the U S A convention. The theme Awareness Action will guide sessions at Seattle Center with opening ceremonies featuring flags from World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. Special guest Debbie Reynolds will join as National Piper as 18 adults and two Senior Scouts from North Iowa attend, including Greene residents Mrs Martin Senne and Mrs Vernon Rottler. They will travel to Minneapolis to fly to Seattle.

Charles City Celebrates 100th Anniversary Gala

Charles City marks its centennial since incorporation with a four day celebration October 15 to 18.
