Rams Fall to St Ansgar 34 0 in Conference Clash

Greene Rams were shut out by St Ansgar 34 to 0 in a hard fought Friday game. John Downing led Greene with 84 rushing yards on 20 carries while Joel Backer added 57 yards on 21 attempts. Despite strong blocking and defense led by Denny Delp and John Downing, Greene couldn't overcome the St Ansgar running game.

Ambulance Fund Drive Opens in Greene

A Greene fund drive to buy an ambulance starts this week led by Mike Maxson of the Greene Volunteer Ambulance committee. Volunteers will train to operate the vehicle and a broad community interest supports moving ahead. Donations can be left at Maxson's Outdoor Equipment or H R Coop Oil Station.

Scouts to Pick Up Papers This Saturday

Senior Girl Scouts will collect newspapers this Saturday October 16 at 10 a.m. curbside in boxes bags or bundles. A marked vehicle will serve rural residents at the Pooley Lumber Co. parking lot. Butler County Sheriff Announces 24 Hour Radio Dispatch Coverage

Marvin W. Barth Sr. announces the sheriff office maintains 24 hour radio dispatchers seven days a week with new high band radios installed in the office and mobile units. Citizens may call 1-319-267-2410 or 2966 to reach the dispatch. Driver's License Examiners operate at the sheriff building each Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 45 p.m.

Notice Public Hearing On Revenue Bonds For Water Improvements

Public hearing set for November 4, 1976 at Greene City Hall Council Chambers at 800 o'clock pm on proposed issuance of 500000.00 in Revenue Bonds to finance water improvements per Environmental Quality recommendations. Residents may speak for or against this proposal before Mayor Arthur Weiss and Clerk Wayne Fischer. The notice also lists an additional hearing for General Obligation Bonds and sewage treatment with a separate date and officials.
