Man Pleads Guilty to False Check Charge in Parkersburg

LeRoy E. Truax 25 of Parkersburg was arrested Friday by Allison Sheriff and appeared in Frank Knight's court on uttering false checks. He pleaded guilty, was fined 50 dollars plus costs, and agreed to restitution for the checks.

Urges Early Christmas Mailing

Patrons are urged to mail gift parcels for distant States during December 3-8 to assure delivery before Christmas. Local and nearby parcels should be mailed by December 12 while greeting cards for distant States must be sent by December 15 for Christmas Day delivery. Surface mail to Alaska and Hawaii not prepaid should go by December 1. No delivery of Christmas cards or letter mail on December 25 except special delivery.

Union Thanksgiving Service At Brethren Church This Evening

The Church of the Brethren hosts a union Thanksgiving service this Wednesday at 730 PM with pastors from the Methodist and Presbyterian churches leading and special music by the host church. Reverend Harold S. Miller preaches on Giving Thanks Under Difficulty and an offering benefits Co. R. O. P. The program supports the Christian Rural Overseas Program aiding rural communities at home and abroad.

Ronnie Butzlaff dies in shotgun accident at Greene County home

Ronnie Allen Butzlaff born April 1952 in Charles City, son of Darrell and Margaret Butzlaff, died November 15 after a shotgun accident at his home. He was a Greene Community School fifth grader and class vice president. Survivors include parents, grandmother Mrs. Carl Dreier, and four brothers. Funeral at St. Peter's Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. I J Devies. Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Reid's Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.

Two Men Plead Guilty in Lascivious Acts Case

Ned Bailey age 66 of Bristow and John Kneppe age 67 of Allison pleaded guilty before Judge Wild in Allison District Court to lascivious acts with a child. Each received six months in county jail with the sentence suspended and parole to Henry Burma of Allison. Bailey was arrested in Bristow in September 1962 and Kneppe in Allison.

Woman's Club Koffee Klatsch Event Planned

A Koffee Klatsch will be held in the Klassi building on Tuesday December 4 from 1 30 until 5 00 p m.The event features displays of traditions articles and foods from foreign countries including England Australia Scotland Germany France Mexico Switzerland and others.Handicraft department will display Christmas items for sale.

Gun Safety Course Set for Next Man

An authorized gun safety course will be held Monday evening at 7 in Greene High School music room.
