Pleasant Grove and Scott Townships will elect a Floyd County Extension Council member for a two year term on Thursday evening November 29. Pleasant Grove will host the election with Flood Creek 4-H Family Night at the Girls 4-H Building. 6:30 p.m. potluck and 8:00 p.m. program including Seattle Worlds Fair pictures and 4-H club activities. Incumbent Ludwig Moeller of Charles City and challenger Mrs. Robert Kock of Greene are named. Scott Township voting occurs at the Scott Center School with a musical program by the Scott Hustlerettes 4-H club at 8:00 p.m. Lunch follows. incumbent Rollin Howell of Rockford seeks re-election.

Two men jailed for larceny near Aplington

James Aswegen age 23 and Richard Comer age 18 from Aplington were arrested by Deputy Marvin Barth and Marshal Paul Manifold on Sunday night November 25 for stealing gasoline from Ivan Lindaman farm north of Aplington. They pled guilty in Parkersburg Justice court and were sentenced by Justice Paul Stewart to fifteen days in Allison county jail.

Siemens Family Leaves for Ostfriesland Germany

Mr and Mrs Henry Siemens and their children Jeanie Richard and Robert depart Tuesday night on a journey to Ostfries land Germany. They travel by train to Chicago and by jet to New York then Icelandic Airline Plane to Amsterdam where relatives will meet them Thursday afternoon and drive four hours to Ostfriesland. They will spend several weeks and Christmas with their parents and relatives. Mrs John Boelman of Clarksville accompanies them to Germany to visit her parents.

Nora Springs Eagles shot well to defeat Greene 57 to 47 as Tom Reuter scored 28 for Nora Springs.
