Thanksgiving Service At Brethren Church

Roger Rev Stock, 11, son of Mr and Mrs Ivan Stock of Kewanee Illinois, underwent surgery at University Hospital in Chicago on Friday November 5. He will return home this week to recuperate for three weeks. His grandmother Mrs Minnie Stock is visiting their home.

Neighbors aided harvest at the Walter Weiland farm southwest of Greene on Tuesday November 5th. Gary Ross escaped injury in a one car accident near Greene on Saturday evening about 6 30. He was traveling north and apparently ran the stop sign at a dead end road. The 1960 Chevrolet was demolished after the car struck a cement bridge and rolled into a west ditch.

Washington reports Rep H R Gross of Waterloo achieved 100 percent attendance in the first session of the 89th Congress amid a record 383 roll call votes and quorum calls. It marks his seventh straight perfect attendance year, with his last miss on June 2, 1958, and a 17 year overall attendance rate of 99 percent.

Iowa trappers were reminded that mink and muskrat seasons begin at noon on November 20 and end at midnight on December 12 with statewide openings except in State Game Management Areas and Federal Wildlife Refuges where rules differ. Luther College Choir to Sing at Convention March 17

Luther College Choir has been invited to perform on the final evening of the American Choral Directors Association convention in Kansas City Missouri March 17. English Meeting At Allison Discusses Summer Enrichment Program

Fifteen English teachers from Suiler and Franklin Counties met at Olson High School on November St to evaluate the past summer enrichment English pro gram. Guy Olson, County Guidance Coordinator, opened the session with a brief history. Miss Moehl of Wartburg College spoke on her phase of the teaching program. The group favored continuing the program in summer 1966 and urged highly motivated sophomores juniors and seniors planning on college to attend. They also recommended continued use of college instructors and that grades not be issued per session, with credit shown on transcripts. Supt V J Tatum and Mrs James Graven were present.
