Greene Volunteer Ambulance Drive Passes $20,000 Goal
The Greene fund drive to reach $25,000 for an ambulance has surpassed $20,000 from last week and continues. Contacts for contributions remain Mike Maxson and Harold Kock. Funds will buy a late model ambulance and gear, radios, dispatch system, and supplies with leftovers aiding future needs and maintenance. The city houses the unit beside the Fire Station. see the current city ordinance creating the service as a city function like the Fire Dept.

Former Greene resident Galen Myers died November 5 at Oelwein Hospital. He is survived by wife Verna, a son William, a daughter Nadine, and two sisters in Florida and Waterloo and Greene in Iowa. Funeral rites were conducted locally.
