Greene ambulance fund drive nears $25,000 goal

The Greene fund drive rose to over $18,500 toward a $25,000 goal to buy a late model ambulance and gear. Contacts for contributions are Mike Maxson and Harold Kock.剩

Handicraft Club to donate to ambulance drive

Greene Handicraft Club voted last week to donate proceeds from this year's quilt project to the Greene Ambulance drive. Two Bicentennial quilts were completed, to be given away at the Woman's Club Fall Festival November 13 at the Community Center. Quilts on display at Dralles Dept. Store, with tickets sold there and by club members. Officers listed: Priscilla Titles president, Fiela Griner vice president, Ellen Johnson secretary, Leola Dralle treasurer. The last meeting was at Lula Smith's home. Carol Barth spoke on creative hand crafted Christmas decorations.

Open House Honors Greene School Faculty and Board

Greene community invited to an Open House sponsored by University Women to honor all Greene Community School faculty members and their families and school board members. The event at the Community Center Tuesday November 16 1976 from 7 30 to 9 00 p m aims to help locals meet teachers and board members in an informal coffee event welcoming all residents.

Arts & Crafts Show and Sale in Greene this Saturday

An arts and crafts show and sale titled OVERDUE will be held on Saturday November 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the north room over the Greene library with an entrance on 2nd Street. Local artisans from Greene contribute paintings macrame photographs journals pottery and more showcasing unique handmade items for home decoration and Christmas gifts.

Woman's Club Fall Festival Set for November 13

The annual Woman's Club Fall Festival will be held at the Community Center on Saturday November 13 starting at 10 a.m. with rolls and coffee. A noon meal begins at 11. Menu includes homemade chicken and noodles tastee burgers baked beans salad and homemade pie.

The annual potluck football banquet will be held Monday November 8 at 6 30 p m in the High School cafeteria. Bring a hot dish and a salad or dessert and your own table service. Breath of Life Campaign Supports Cystic Fibrosis Care

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Breath of Life Campaign raises funds to aid lung damaged children, with volunteers contributing time to gather $400 for ongoing care and future hope. The community thanks contributors and media for public education about this incurable disease and its impact on children.

New Science Program at Greene Elementary School

Greene Elementary launches the Science Series Modular Activity Program in Science MAPS by Houghton Mifflin. The hands on approach emphasizes organizer concepts and four themes Structural Patterns of Matter Patterns of Space and Time Patterns of Interaction and Patterns of Life. The series will run articles Nov through Apr outlining modules and at home activities.

Greene High School presents Earnest fall play opens Friday

The Greene High School fall play The Importance of Being Earnest opens this Friday and Saturday at 7 30 p m in the old gym. Tickets are available at the door. Eight of nine cast members perform in their first stage show with Patti McGee Peggy Steere Linette Nixt Ellen Nixt Linda Ruiz Monte Bramer Jeff Conry and Kelly Ebling. Barry Morgan appears in his second play this year having played the lead in last year’s Harvey.
