Shell Rock Recreation Area Gains New Facilities and Access
The Shell Rock Recreation area, No. 1 on the West edge, now offers a camp and picnic sites with a new boat dock, play areas, and swings. A road and spillway were built by the County Board to improve access from the north and east. Plans for 1963 include camping and fishing enhancements as 500 loads of sock were used for repairs in 1962. The Greene Recreation Area, No. 4, near Greene town, is planned to open in 1963 with park development led by Walter Wunsch for Greene.
