At the State Meet Pam Miller equaled 440 yd time 59.6 to rank seventh. She also ran 220 yd finals in 26.6 for seventh. Greene's 880 medley team posted 1:54.2 but missed finals. Mile relay 4:10.1 placed 25th. Shuttle hurdle 1:09.3 tied season best for 33rd.

Concert and Awards Night Arts Program Scheduled
A panorama of instrumental performances and vocal selections will accompany Awards Night this evening at 7 30 p m in the new building. Groups include junior high bands and high school ensembles with various yearly awards and scholarships presented. A social hour with refreshments follows, hosted by the Music Parents.
Ventura Invitational Girls Track Results Highlight Greta Greene
Greene placed third at the Ventura Invitational as Linda Grumley set a school record in the 100 meter hurdles with 15.8 seconds. Pam Miller led in the open 100 220 and 440, while Greene’s 880 medley and shuttle hurdle teams won their events. Second and third place finishes included shots, relays, and hurdles, with multiple team standings and individual performances noted. Senior Miller capped her prep career with top finishes.

Mrs. Lois Hardy Bodenles, 66, died May 15 at West Los Angeles after a lingering illness. Funeral services were May 17 with burial at Santa Monica. Survived by husband Carl two sisters Edith Dishong of Cedar Rapids and Irma Norman of Albany Oregon and one brother George of Kensett Iowa. She was aunt of Dwight Barnhart and Dale Hardy.

Greene Golfers End season with 4th at District Meet
The Greene Boys' Golf Team closed the 1973-74 season with a 4th place finish at the District Golf Tournament in Sumner. Steve Tower was medalist with 81, followed by Bill Astor 83, Jim Van Eschen 84, Ron Schafer 89, and Markt Stephenson 91. Greene finished 61-1, with 2nd at West Union, 1st in the Conference and Sectional meets. Graduation notices outline Baccalaureate on May 26 and Commencement on May 29 with speaker Jerry Starkweather.

Rites Held for Mrs. Clifford Smith in Greene
Funeral services were conducted Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Greene for Mrs. Clifford Smith 78 who died May 16 at Floyd County Memorial Hospital Charles City. Rev Donald Wahlgren officiated with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Survivors include five daughters and numerous grandchildren. Reid's Funeral Chapel in charge.

Wartburg Graduate Wins Research Award At UI Medical Day
Anne Voigts, a Wartburg College biology chemistry major and UI College of Medicine sophomore, is cited for a Student Research Fellowship paper titled Efferent Pathways of the Coronary Chemo Reflex. The work won second place at Towa Student Medical Research Day and was presented at the 1974 Midwest Student Medical Research Forum and the 58th FABEs in Atlantic City. Co authored and sponsored by Dr. Allyn Mark, Cardiovascular Division, UI Internal Medicine.

Art festival highlights at Hotel Ft Des Moines
Mrs Elsie Bliss Mrs Hazel Menken and Mrs Irene Ressler attended the St Citizens Art Festival held at Hotel Ft Des Moines on Tuesday May 14. More than 100 entries from over 30 counties entered visual art including painting woodworking and rosemaling with 17 groups presenting choral instrumental readings and solos. The festival is sponsored by the Lowe Commission on Aging and the Extension Service of ISU in Ames.
