Doctor Dental Committee Meeting Discusses Incorporation
On Sunday May 16 at 7 00 p m in the Community Center basement twenty six people attended a meeting of the Doctor Dental Committee. The group discussed Dr George Orndorff's future practice location and obtained a cost estimate of 39000 for Kenset construction not including foundation utilities or finishing. Msgr Cooney with Dubuque approval donated the lot east of the Catholic academy for a doctor's office. A motion passed to form a non profit corporation with two donation options tax deductible gift or loan with certificate of indebtedness. Norman Graven asked attendees to sign articles by Friday. Officers of the committee were proposed as the first officers of the corporation and Loren McRoberts Harold Stark and Mariette Reid were named as directors by secret ballot.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rex Townsley 63 of Greene were held May 12 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Howard Dukelow officiating. She was co owner of The Corner Dress Shop and survived by a son Don of Rudd two daughters and eight grandchildren.

The Greene swimming pool board announces Linda Grumley as pool manager for the year. She renewed her advanced life saving course and earned a Water Safety Instruction certificate this past year at Tarkio College. Butler County fair parade sets July 14 lineup

GHS Jazz Band to be on TV in statewide broadcast
Greene High School Jazz Band under Ray Holtz will appear as one of six top Iowa high school jazz groups in a 90 minute Iowa Jazz Championships special on May 21 at 8 30 pm. Handicraft Club to Meet May 26 Picnic

The July 1 1976 deadline applies for signing both military and homestead exemptions. Eligible homeowners include active duty service members from World War II Korea Vietnam eras with defined service dates. Janet Twachtmann wins gold at special Olympics in Des Moines
Janet Twachtmann daughter of M and Herman Stubbe Greene won gold in the 50 yard dash at Drake Stadium Des Moines. She also won the softball throw at the district meet in Oelwein to qualify for the state meet. Twachtmann is a Goodwill Industries client. 35 other Goodwill clients competed in Oelwein. About 1500 people competed in Drake track and Valley High swimming events.
