Rites Held for Carl Dreier 81 in Iowa Funeral

Carl F. Dreier 81 died Friday morning at Floyd County Veterans Memorial Hospital after four days of illness. Born November 10 1885 in Bresegard Germany he moved to Greene Iowa in 1900. Librarians Gather for Towa Library District Meeting at Eldora

The Towa Library Association held its district meeting in Eldora on May 10 with Dr. Frederick Weze man, director of the State University of Iowa Library School, as a featured speaker. Bids Set for Highway Construction in Iowa Counties

The Iowa State Highway Commission approved the low bids on May 9 for two highway projects in Butler and Bremer Counties. Midwest Paving Company and Van Buskirk-Cook of Sioux City bid 571,168 for 6 miles of asphaltic concrete on the Iowa 3 relocation in Butler County, with completion by November 18. The second project, 3.4 miles of Iowa 3 reconstruction from the Butler County line to Waverly, drew a 412,221 bid from the same firms, with completion by November 18.

Doctors Day celebrated in Greene with parade and banquet

Greene proclaims Doctors Appreciation Day on Thursday May 18 and honors Dr. H G MacLeod and Dr. B V Andersen for over 70 years of service. A parade led by the high school band will include nearly fifty floats and horses, with early dismissal for students and an open house at the elementary school followed by an 7 PM banquet at the high school auditorium.
