In Butler county, April figures show 186 Old Age Assistance recipients paid 18 336 dollars. Medical Assistance for the Aged had 43 recipients totaling 2 935 dollars. 50 Aid to Dependent Children families, 174 individuals, received 6 947 dollars. 9 Aid to Blind recipients received 1 190 dollars. Lift Restriction For Sorghum Growers Using Atrazine
The Department of Agriculture has lifted the ban on feeding or grazing sorghum where Atrazine 80W was applied. Livestock may graze forage 60 days after herbicide use. Atrazine, registered by USDA in 1963, controls broadleaf weeds and sorghum pests. The chemical is applied after sorghum emergence and before weeds reach 1 ft height, with shallow soil incorporation improving results.
