Marble Rock Snowmobile Club members attended a potluck supper on Sunday March 28 at Rockford High School. The event, sponsored by Snow Blazers Inc of Rudd, Rockford and Nora Springs, included bingo after the meeting.
On Friday April 23 the Sons of Marble Rock sponsor a benefit basketball night at the Marble Rock School Gym with girls and boys games to raise funds for a new tennis court. The Rockford High School presents the musical George M on April 24 and 26 with Jeff Koenigsfeld in the lead. cast includes Angela Marsh Dawn Marsh Madonna Dolan Sandy King Shawn Van Benschoten Raija Nieminnen Robbie Wright Sherri Ewald Tom Frascht Ron McKigney Tim Staudt Brian Chambers Marty Worley. A Marble Rock Lions Club Carnival drew a large crowd on March 26 at the Marble Rock School gym. M&M Maurice Lines visited Alburnettown March 28 with Balderon family. also visiting was Mrs Levina Morphew of Des Moines. Beulah Noehl returned home Saturday after a week in Mason City. Mary Stone and Roger Toothaker spent spring break at home with her parents. Parent Teacher Conferences were held at Marble Rock Elementary on March 26.
The raffle was won by Dave Meek of Marble Rock. Donations included by Rockford First State Bank, decorated cakes with a Bicentennial look and ceramics from Mrs. Dale Grice of Greene. The annual Club Carnival features a Father Daughter Banquet on Thursday April 1 at the United Methodist Church, with a show at Mason City fairgrounds on Saturday March 27 by Marty Worley and Dave Koebrick.
Monday night action in the Little Six and related leagues shows Don's and Zurcher's posting top team scores, with high individual marks by Don McBurney, Harpo, Duane Guenther, and Ardean Landers. Other leagues include Big Six, Tuesday Night Rollers, Wednesday Nite Rollers, Hot Shots, Alley Cat, Friday Night Mixed, and Town & Country, detailing standings, high scores, and end-of-league awards.
The Nutrition Center posts a daily menu from April 1 to April 9. Entries include April Fool's Day surprise in the basement, cod with sides, veal steak with pudding, baked pork chop, crisp chicken, porcupine pots, and tuna bake with desserts and fruit offerings.
