Two shirtless streakers in ski masks ran through Sonny's Lounge Saturday at about 11:30 startling patrons. They exited via the rear door toward a waiting car after scattering chairs and a toppled table. No one identified the men as Sonny served beer, lamenting a spilled two gallons.

Butler County Fair Queen Contest Rules Available
Butler County Fair sponsors a two queen contest with the winner representing the fair at the Iowa State Fair in August. A letter and rules have been sent to civic clubs in all 12 towns, encouraging elimination contests in each community to give every girl a chance. Eligible contestants are ages 16 to 21 by August 16. Interested girls should contact their local civic organization. In past years entrants from all 12 communities have done well at the state contest.

Greene High School Jazz Band won first place at the Nashua Jazz Band contest held Saturday March 16. North Central took second and St Ansgar third. Dominic Spera from Wisconsin State University served as solo performer clinician and judge. Special trombone award went to Mark Stephenson. Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Rex held March 21
Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Chastine Rex were held March 21 at Reid's Funeral Chapel Marble Rock with burial in Hillside Cemetery. She died March 19 1974 at Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City aged 78. Born October 20 1895 in Union Township she was the youngest of four children. She married Leland Ross Rex on November 20 1916 at Mason City and the couple farmed near Marble Rock then retired in 1966. She is survived by husband Ross of Marble Rock and several nieces and nephews.

The 6Flags Fund has not reached the $2600 mark. Recent profits came from the Elevator Dinner and the Beef Producers Banquet. Chairmen for the Beef Producers Banquet were M and M Quentin Hildebrand, with a committee of band member parents and their families, including grade school and high school students. Rites Held Monday for George Teeple in Greene
Funeral services for George Marion Teeple age 78 of Greene were held Monday at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Greene. He died Friday at Mathers Nursing Home in Greene and was born in Greene on June 24, 1895. He was the youngest son of William and Elva Teeple nee Belknap and is survived by his sister Sylvia Baber of Rudd and niece Elva Sternes, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery officiated by Rev. Max Hall of Rudd.
