Greene High School presents its 2nd annual Jazz Show on Friday March 29 at 8 pm featuring soloists Mark Henderson JMU UNI tenor sax and Jace Band alto soprano tenor and baritone sax. Also featured is Gil Lettow Mason City High School instructor director with Alabama band and Joey Ensemble solos. saxophones highlighted with program produced by Steve Ament Chris Ruts and committees led by Cindy Muhlerbruckh Jayne Geesman Deb Barnhart and Steve Nordmeyer.

Greene Community Schools Music Festival honors with ribbons
About 120 students from Greene Community Schools in grades 3 through 10 participated in the North Iowa Invitational Instrumental Music Festival. Seventy received blue or superior ribbons, forty-one red or excellent, and six white. All 17 ensembles earned blue or superior ribbons. Numerous soloists and accompanists are named, with many staff and chaperones acknowledged for support.

The 1972 Greene Heart Fund Drive closed with a total of 667.18 for the town of Greene. Contributions came from the east section with 27 dollars and the residential collection adding 85 dollars in the home room of Mrs. Laverne Kehoe.
