Mr and Mrs Russell Duncan of Greene announce the engagement of their daughter Rose Lee Brooks to Duane E Mather son of Mr and Mrs Eldred Mather of Greene. A wedding date has not been set. A kitchen shower Saturday for the bride elect by Sue Clapham Penny Wharton and Rose Lee Brooks was held at Miss Brooks parents home with nineteen classmates invited. Bingo prizes went to Miss Andrews. The couple plan to marry April 5 at 4 pm in the Presbyterian Church.

The Cross and Crown Bible Class met Friday afternoon March 20 at Mrs Lois Pringle’s home with fifteen members and one child present. MacLeods Return From Florida Vacation
Dr and Mrs H G MacLeod come home Monday after a Florida trip. They stayed with Mr and Mrs Henry N Graven at Tampa and visited relatives at Clearwater Beach. They attended a Bath Club dinner at Reddington Beach March 20 honoring the Gravens 38th wedding anniversary and Mrs Graven's brother in law and sister the Bentzs of Ashville North Carolina. The couples wed in a double ceremony on March 20 1926. Guests included Dr and Mrs Elsworth Johnson of Winchester Virginia, cousins of Mr Graven.
