Extension Service To Plan 1964 Program

The Butler County Extension Council appointed 66 residents to help plan the 1964 Extension Service educational program. Six committees will address crops and soils, livestock and marketing, farm and home management, public affairs, family living, and youth. Peace Corps Tests Set Across Nation Next Saturday

Peace Corps placement tests will be held in 823 cities nationwide next Saturday, March 23, with the nearest center in Mason City at Post Office Building Room 16. Tests start at 8:30 a.m. Opportunities span education, agriculture, health, construction, and community development. Space available entrants may take the test first then complete the questionnaire. Former Greene Resident Irma Bieber Dies in South Dakota

Word reached Greene of the death of Mrs. Irma Bieber Canova South Dakota on February 22. She was the daughter of Rev and Mrs Wm J H Knappe former Greene residents. Born in Greene, she was part of the local Lutheran Church history with her father serving as pastor. The Knappe family married in Greene in 1906 and lived here until 1913, now residing in Bartonville Illinois. Mrs Knappe and other relatives visited the church briefly on their way home from the funeral.
