Doug Trees, a junior, captured the 112 pound Class A wrestling championship at the state tournament in McElroy Auditorium Waterloo. He pinned Donnie Wilson of Greenfield in 5:56 in the finals after previously defeating Griffin Osceola 4 0 in 1st round and Salts Logan-Magnon 3 0 in semifinals. Greene finished 9th in Class A with 31 schools, season record 30 1, lone loss due to an illegal body slam.

Debbie Gallmeyer eight daughter of Mr and Mrs Bernard Gallmeyer Mason City died as Butler County's first auto fatality of 1968. She was killed instantly Saturday when the car driven by her mother struck a bridge and left the road near Allison. Four Receive Suspended Sentences From District Court
Four defendants in Butler County District Court pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and related thefts. Wesley A. Bass and Thomas G. Sedlacek, both 26 from Omaha, received 10 year sentences with parole supervision after offenses dated September 8 1967 at Brandt's Elevator Allison. Clark Burton Clark and Douglas Dean Teeple, both 21 from Clarksville, got five year terms with suspended sentences for possession of stolen goods and larceny from Majewski Texaco Greene, paroled to the State Board of Parole.

Mrs Vern Gard Injured in Iowa Falls Auto Crash

13th Annual Talleorn Music Conference Draws 400 Vocal Students
Over 400 vocal students from 75 Iowa high schools took part in the 13th annual Talleorn Music Conference for vocalists and pianists on March 2 at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
