Funeral services for Theodore Kenyon 69 of Marble Rock were held Thursday June 17 at Reid's Funeral Chapel with burial at Hillside Cemetery. Rev. Carroll Robinson officiated. Kenyon born April 1 1907 in Norwich New York died June 14 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home Mason City. Survived by wife Bertha Marble Rock one stepson LaVerne Smith Marble Rock and four stepdaughters Lyla Truex Opal Ackley Alma Jean Hinrichsen Shirley Herman all Marble Rock plus a sister and brother in New York.

Greene High School’s Class of 1926 marked their 50th reunion on June 5 at Round Grove Golf & Country Club. Eighteen of 35 members attended, with many local and former residents listed. Herman Stubbe presided as Master of Ceremonies, Wilbur Tindall led the invocation and memorial service for deceased classmates.

Kids Races Set For July Fourth Celebration
The Beta Sigma Phi Greene Commercial Club sponsor Fourth of July Kids Races on Monday July 5 at 9 30 a m on the high school football field. Races for ages 3 to 12 award cash prizes to the top three finishers. Afternoon events include canoe and raft races, free watermelon and fireworks at Perrin Park.

Infant Allen Wheat Committal Services Held
Graveside committal services were held Tuesday morning at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City for Allen Wheat infant son of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Wheat who died at birth. Survivors include his parents, maternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Francis Brinkman, paternal grandmother Mrs Pearl Wheat, maternal great grandmother Mrs Rosa Brinkman. Greene girls rally to take 7th in tourney and stun Nashua
The Ramblerettes totaled 75 runs in five games while allowing 85, posting 2 wins and 3 losses. Bev Brinkman earned her third conference win, homering and driving in three as Laura Harris hit a three run shot in a late rally to beat Nashua 27 20. On Thursday they faced Allison in the first round of the tournament.

Jim Schroeder Celebrates 30 Years in Greene Concrete Business
Jim D. Schroeder marks three decades with Schroeder Concrete in Greene. He began in 1946 with Andrews Concrete, bought the Greene firm in 1959, expanding from two 2 cubic yard mixers to seven 7 cubic yard trucks. The company sells redi mix to private and contractor customers and also performs installations. Schroeder and his sons Bruce and Dan run the business, with Bruce as redi mix plant manager and Dan leading the construction crew. The firm pours basements with brick patterns and handles footings walls and floors as a three day job, serving a 250 mile radius. Schroeder, his wife Mary, and daughter Jan are active in Greene church and community groups.
