Funeral services for Kenneth Orcutt held in Plainfield

Mrs. Russell Meyers attended the funeral after returning from Plainfield where she had stayed since the death of her brother Kenneth Orcutt age 62 Thursday morning. He died at Town City Veterans Hospital. services were held Saturday afternoon in the Plainfield Baptist Church. Orcutt was a longtime bookkeeper for Roach Farms Incorporated before resigning due to illness. He had been in Waverly Hospital for weeks prior to transfer.

Neva Krull a 19 year old Parkersburg High School graduate from Parkersburg was chosen Butler County Dairy Princess at Dairy Day in Allison. About 370 high school and junior high musicians from 10 states rehearse daily at the University of Iowa for the 16th All State Music Camp in Iowa City. Wendy Martzahn of Greene plays alto sax in the Black Band. the camp runs from June 13 to 25 with bands, chorus, and orchestra.

Ramblers beat Rockford 3 to 2 as Jeff Drake started the scoring with a walk and steal. Ackley scored on a Jones double, Buffridge and Hegarty drew walks and scored on miscues in the fourth. Crewe stole eight bases and Neal fanned Rambers hitters, while Mark Ott pitched for Greene. The rain-postponed game against St Ansgar was suspended in the fourth and will be resumed later this week alongside a Greene makeup date.

To Dedicate Bennetette Church Service Led by Rev Willaami Hote

The Bennetette Wesleyan Methodist Church plans a dedication service on a June afternoon at 3 00 pm at the church in Bennetette Township Center School House site. New Bowling Alley Planned North of Greene

Elmer Stock announced early plans to start construction soon on a new bowling alley about 14 miles north of Greene along Highway 14. The L shaped building will be 150 by 40 with a 60 by 50 wing and will house six lanes plus lounge and lunch counter space.
