Local Youths In Car Mishap Friday Near Greene
Charles Teeple and Gene Nettleton, with Glade Heichel, were injured in a two car crash north of Greene at 1 30 a m last Friday. Teeple was critically injured, Nettleton and Heichel lightly hurt. All three wore safety belts and were taken to Cedar Valley Hospital. Teeple later to Rochester for emergency surgery. Nettleton released Sunday. Heichel discharged the same day.

Butler Court House Issue Defeated in Balloting
Butler County voters rejected a proposal to erect a new court house by 951 to 935 in last Monday’s election. Four townships backed the plan, with West Point Allison 281 to 69, Washington 29 to 18, Albion 111 to 61, Bennedette 32 to 31 in favor. Coldwater voted 120 to 72 against, reflecting tax resistance and indifference to the current building. The supervisors must now remodel the present facility with limited funds.

St. Peter's Lutheran in Greene celebrated Rev. I. J. Deines 25 years in ministry with an 8:00 p.m. service on Sunday June 10 and a reception. Pastors from Charles City Allison Wilmar Rockford and others attended. Deines ordination was June 16 1932 and his work included Tama Marble Rock and Greene. The Greene congregation presented him a substantial monetary gift.

Survived by husband three children two sisters and four brothers. She graduated Greene High School 1935 Coe College Cedar Rapids and attended Town State College Ames. Burial in Kansas City Missouri. Funeral services were held at Newcomer Funeral Home Kansas City on Saturday June 8.
