One hundred twenty nine children enrolled in Red Cross Swimming lessons at the Municipal pool in Charles City. Officials urge all attendees to Perrin Park by 8:00 a.m. for buses leaving at 8:15. A 35 cent registration fee and permission slips are required. Classes run weekly through August with junior and senior lifesaving on Fridays. Boys 9 to 10 a.m. Girls 10 to 11 a.m. Ladies 11 a.m. to noon. Friday classes require private transportation.

Auto collision injures Minnesota trio and spouses
Mrs. Tom Zurcher was hospitalized with a broken leg and bruises after a two car crash near White Bear Lake. The Zurchers and Will Cheney and Paul Grey were returning from a fishing trip when Mrs. Zurcher turned left and was struck by a St Paul woman. Six Freight Cars Derailed Near Packard Greene
Six cars of a 20 car Rock Island freight train No 903 derailed six miles southeast of Greene at 5 00 am Tuesday near Packard on the main track beside a siding. Officials cite journal failure in the hub of the first car back of the engine as the cause. Two refrigerator cars were demolished a cement car and an empty hopper car tumbled. a box car and a tractor loaded flat car derailed but stood upright. Sidetrack in use by 11 am and main track cleared late afternoon.
