Senior Citizens Tax Freeze Application Deadline
Butler County Assessor in Allison announces the Tax Freeze deadline is July 1 for residents 65 by December 31 1967. The benefit targets homeowners with combined income under 3500 and aged 65 plus. Greene county residents may apply June 16 at Mel's TV in Greene from 8 30 am to 3 30 pm. Deeds and contracts for sale property must be recorded by July 1 at the County Recorder's Office.

Ruth Haugenbury Injured in Head-On Car Crash
Mrs Ruth Haugenbury was hospitalized at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City for six to eight weeks after a two car collision seven miles west of Charles City on May 24. The car she rode in driven by Miss Jean Springer collided with a northbound vehicle. Springer’s car was demolished. Haugenbury suffered a fractured pelvic bone and multiple bruises.

Rites Held For Carl A Knutson
Funeral services for Carl A Knutson age 73 were held Saturday afternoon at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Hampton. He died Tuesday evening May 28 after a lingering illness. Survivors include his wife one son three daughters including Mrs. David Markle of Greene and eight grandchildren.

Clarksville Man To Be Ordained at St John Lutheran
Paul Frederick Matthias is to be ordained to the ministry at St John Lutheran Church Clarksville on Sunday morning June 9 at 10 o clock. He is the son of Pastor and Mrs Matthias of Clarksville and a graduate of Clarksville High School.
