Grace Barnhart Returns Home After Hospital Stay

Grace Barnhart returned home Saturday after a month in Storm Lake. Her sister Mrs. Fred Strickler was treated for a severe coronary attack at Buena Vista hospital and is progressing. Mr Strickler, critically ill, was also hospitalized and will remain for care. The Stricklers are former Greene residents.

Michael Delan Killed in Rural Iowa Auto Crash

Michael M Dolan 17 of Decorah died in a two car crash near Manchester at 7 45 p m Sunday. Roger Armstrong 20 Cedar Rapids and Stephen Kinkead 18 Whittier drove the other cars. Armstrong was hospitalized with a neck fracture and cuts. Kinkead bruised but not hospitalized. Two Armstrong passengers and several others were treated. Dolan was son of Dr and Mrs Robert Dolan. Greene and Nashua advanced to the Babe Ruth tournament semifinals at Rudd after decisive Monday wins. Greene routed Rockford Warriors 10 to 0 via four innings, with Rick Siemens a triple, Brunsma and Johnson doubling, and Stuntz and Shultz combining on a two hitter. Trout stocking halted in some Iowa streams

Low water levels and high air temperatures have stopped rainbow trout stocking in marginal northeast Iowa streams. Officials said stocking will resume only after rainfall increases stream flow or temperatures drop, possibly after Labor Day. Streams in good condition continue to be stocked.

Doris Butler is Visiting Parents in Eugene and Detroit

Doris Butler of Eugene visited her parents Mr and Mrs Garth Butler and her brother Rev John G Butler in Detroit Michigan. She resigned from Sacred Heart General Hospital in Eugene after seven and a half years. She served as assistant director then director of nursing services and will join the faculty at Aten Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Waterloo starting August 9.

Little League clinched the title with 13 wins and unknown losses as Babe Ruth sealed second by beating Nashua 5 to 2 for an 11 4 season. Funeral services conducted at the Church of the Brethren in Greene with Rev Darrel Fryman and Rev Gerald Mense officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery. Reid's Funeral Chapel in charge. Butler County savings bonds reported June sales of 31,062 dollars for Series E and H, raising six month total to 331,756 dollars or 39 percent of the 1965 quota. Iowa sales in June totaled 7,451,100 dollars, with a six month state total of 58,459,622 dollars at 51 percent of the 1965 goal.

Round-Up Girls Report on Trip at Sand Point Idaho

Three Girl Scouts Carolin Kehoe Margeret Senne and Ann Rottler attend Sand Point Round-Up Idaho report a wonderful time. Mr and Mrs Theodore Brink recently returned from a seventeen day tour of the East. They visited Ford's Museum, Greenville Village in Detroit, Niagara Falls, New York City, the World’s Fair, Washington D C, the John F Kennedy Grave at Arlington Cemetery, and Gettysburg Pennsylvania. In New York they visited relatives in Newark and toured the Jackson Perkins Rose Garden.
