Winners of Greene Bucks at the drawing Saturday evening were Beatrice Schuknecht and Cliff Dulin each receiving $20, Gary Beck $10, and John Groothuis $5. A total of $65 in Greene Bucks will be given away next Saturday night including two $20s two $10s and one $5.
Coach Jerry Eimers announces Saturday, July 30, the day Little League, Babe Ruth, High School, Local League players and their fathers will visit Bloomington Minnesota to see the Twins play Baltimore. Those attending should call 823 4671 before July 26 to order tickets funded by last Sunday's benefit softball game. School buses are being arranged for transport.
Senator Vernon H Kyhl attended the 1966 Midwestern Conference of the Council of State Governments at Pheasant Run Lodge St Charles Illinois July 17 to 20. The council comprises 12 midwestern states and aims to discuss uniform legislation across states.

Greene Ramblers beat Sheffield-Chapin 12 to 4 in sectional finals at Thornton before a 9 to 0 loss to Mason City in the district first round at Mason City. Greene earlier defeated Allison 12 to 1 and Hampton 6 to 0 to reach the sectional final. Greene hosts Nora Springs next in Corn Bowl Conference action, aiming to tie Rockford for first with Rockford at 8-2. Greene stands 7-2 in conference and 11-3 overall.
Investment Planning Inc of Dubuque announces Clif Burroughs of Greene has joined as vice president and partner. Burroughs brings about 20 years in the investment field and civic involvement. He will continue as resident manager for the Greene Charles City area.
Jeffrey Teeple seven year old son of Charles Teeple and grandson of Mr and Mrs Charles Teeple of Greene sustained a compound fracture of the left leg between the knee and ankle when his bicycle collided with a neighbor child’s near his home in Charles City. He was admitted to Floyd County Veterans Memorial Hospital in Charles City.
Mr and Mrs Virgil Hites welcomed a daughter named Sherri Frances on Thursday afternoon July 14 at Floyd County Veterans Memorial Hospital Charles City. The baby weighed 8 pounds 3% ounces at birth.
The State Services for Crippled Children will hold a no fee diagnostic clinic at Herbert Hoover School in Mason City on August 11 for children under 21 with chronic or crippling conditions from 12 counties. Referrals are required and appointments are sent to parents after physician or dentist referral.
Mr and Mrs Stanley Senne and baby Charlotte of Fort Benning Georgia spend a thirty day furlough with his parents Mr and Mrs Hugo Senne. He is a Sixth Wing technical inspector and has just completed three years in the United States Army, with a six year enlistment to follow.
Johnny King and the Thrill Champions perform July 29 at 8 00 p m at the Butler County Fair. Precision driving features cars on two wheels and ramped crossings with up to four vehicles. A circus clown adds humor while two top stunt drivers compete for farthest two wheel drive. Motorcycles jump over parked cars as safety belts are praised.

The 18th annual contact x-ray program in Butler county ended, with 19 chest x rays taken on site. Six showed findings suspicious of active or healed tuberculosis or activity undetermined, while 12 revealed other abnormalities needing possible follow up. One result was within normal limits. The program aims to detect tuberculosis among close contacts of contagious cases, funded by Butler county Christmas Seals. Public health nurse William Miller directed 19 home visits, interviewing 46 people after conferences with 10 physicians. The program is a joint effort of the Butler County Association Iowa Tuberculosis and Health Association and the State Department of Health, with Butler County Medical Society approval. About 80 Iowa counties have conducted similar work since 1987.
ASC elections set for August 22 1966 involve township polling places for ASC community committeemen. Nominations may be by petition with one nominee per petition, signed by at least six eligible voters and received by July 27 1966. Petitions require nominees active in farming or ranching and representative of local agricultural diversity.

Forty Floyd County 4-Hers attended a three day camp at the Pinebluff 4-H camping center near Decorah this week. Staff included Barbara and Nancy Katcher of Greene. Campers named include Debra Innes Debbie Adams Amber Adams Diane Carney Kathy Frascht Sheryl Frascht and Julie Ewald of Marble Rock.
The 110th Butler County Fair runs July 28 to August 1 in Allison with a queen contest on August 1 and a talent show, animal scrambles, and horse racing events. Contenders for the queen must be unmarried 16 to 21 and active in local organizations.
About 1 175 workers in Butler county nonfarming businesses earned taxable wages under the old age survivors and disability insurance program in early 1964. Waterloo Social Security District Manager Earl T Johnson said 348 reporting units covered under the program paid roughly 946000 dollars in wages in the first quarter. Retail trade employed 515 workers, automotive dealers and service stations 111. The County Business Patterns edition is part of a 53 book series detailing wage-based county and industry statistics for the U S and territories.
Deer license applications for the 1966 shotgun and bow and arrow seasons will be available about August 1 from Conservation Officers, County Recorders, most license outlets, and the State Conservation Commission office in Des Moines. Shotgun applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. CDT August 19, 1966. bow and arrow has no deadline.
