The Round Grove Golf and Country Club held its annual meeting at the Youth Center. Jim Schroeder was named president and Max Weyand vice president. Directors elected were Martin Senne Larry Finnell and Ralph Marsh. A 28 by 30 foot addition will extend the clubhouse adding basement locker rooms and a large main floor recreation room with a modern kitchen lounge and dining area.

Lena Pribbenow 79 died Thursday in a Mason City nursing home after nearly four years as a patient. Funeral services were Monday at 2 p.m. at Sheckler Funeral Home with Rev. George Baker of Rockford Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Nora Springs Park Cemetery. Born Lena A Kollman in Rudd September 25 1883 she married Ed Pribbenow in 1904. They farmed near Nora Springs later moving to town. Survived by daughter Bernice Burgess Perryville Md two sons Herbert and Truman Nora Springs three grandchildren and a great grandchild a brother Fred Kollman Colorado Springs. She lived in Greene before entering the rest home.
Robert Eliasen left Thursday for Leesville Louisiana to begin six months of National Guard training. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Harry Eliasen and has been employed by Gabe and Hamilton Implement Company.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Champion Funeral Home for Frank Morse 80 who died Sunday at Clark Nursing Home in Greene after five years as a patient. Survived by sons Lynn of Waukon and Dale of Napa California. Burial followed in Orchard Cemetery.
Harold Amos Kingery 61 died Sunday morning of a heart attack in a local physician's office. Born April 10, 1901 in Butler County, he married Carol Freeman on August 31, 1927 and farmed near Greene. A longtime First Presbyterian Church Greene trustee and elder, he is survived by his wife, three daughters, nine grandchildren, three brothers and five sisters. Funeral at 2:00 pm today at the First Presbyterian Church, burial Rose Hill Cemetery. Williams Mortuary in charge.
The Rambler freshmen sophomore team defeated Clarksville 65 to 43 after a burst in the second quarter. John Mead led with 22 points and strong rebounding, while Mark Ott added 14 and Ronnie Stewart 13 as Clarksville faded in the second half behind Rambler defense and height advantage. Hoodier led Clarksville with scoring but could not close the gap.

Juniors feature Janette Brinkman, Judy Bruns, Lana Cheney, Joyce Crosby, John Gersema, Beverly Herman, and others. Eighth and seventh graders appear with names such as Sue Brinkman, Karen Jewell, Karen Kehoe, and more. Explorer Scouts to watch the Waterloo Black Hawks vs St Paul game Sunday afternoon in Waterloo. About twenty five scouts and their families plan to attend the event.
Mrs Lew Squires age 67 died January 22 at her Greene home after long illness. Born August 3 1887 in Northfield Minnesota she lived in Frederica before marriage to Lewis Squires on January 14 1901. Survived by two children Ruth Merfeld and Everett Squires six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral was Saturday at St Marys Church Greene with Rev Joseph Murphy officiating. Burial in St Marys Cemetery. Reid's Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
Greene City tournament over weekend with Betty Steere winning singles and Lanora Shultz Ollie Henline pair taking doubles. All events top scores include Steere 1 449 and Ternowske 1 399. Singles results list Steere 373 scratch 6633 total, with others Sneed Shultz Morriss Behnke Henline Sherman in order.
The Butler County Chapter American Red Cross fund campaign opens Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Allison City Hall with Chairman Carl Heyenga announcing an earlier start to end by March 20. Ted Higgens will speak and show "Neighbor to Neighbor" on door to door aid. local division heads and volunteers announced.
Floyd Folkers of Cedar Falls son of Mr and Mrs Frank Folkers of Greene submitted to an emergency operation for a skull fracture on Saturday at Sartori Memorial Hospital Cedar Falls. The accident occurred when a car he was working on fell on his head. The last report is that he is getting along fine.
The Ramblerettes overwhelmed Manly 55 to 24 to clinch the conference crown as Barbara Allison and Joyce Crosby led a swarming backcourt with multiple steals. Ruth Jepsen and Diane Cheney complemented the offense, while Connie Foster controlled boards and Ruth Jepsen hit key shots. The Greene team’s defense stifled the Falcons through three quarters, with Martha Stuntz and Pam Hynes contributing on buckets and playmaking.
W S Bettesworth aged 84 died last night in Vancouver Washington. Funeral services will be held in Vancouver on Friday with the body later returned to Allison for a prayer service. Cemetery in Greene. Survived by two daughters Mrs P E Schultz and Mrs Henry Buss of Allison. Former resident of Greene and Butler County.
The Farmers cooperative Creamery Association will hold its annual meeting next Saturday February 2 at the high school auditorium. Free lunch at noon, business meeting to follow with officer elections. Music, door prizes, entertainment, and a guest speaker are planned.
H L McCulla returned home Saturday afternoon from Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City where he underwent surgery.

The state total reached 110,834,087 for 74 percent of the 1962 goal, with Butler County posting 182 sales totaling 856,082 dollars, per county chairman John McWhirter of Allison.
