Vandals caused seven thefts across Butler County over the weekend and Tuesday morning. Targets included Farmer's Co op Elevator in Dumont eight dollars from a cash box Bristow Locker ten dollars from a cash register Skelly Station twenty dollars and Standard Station seventy five dollars from a cash register at Bristow and Dumont plus forty dollars at Bessman's One Stop. The Sheriff's Office investigates.

Greene Community School Plans Move Toward Bond Election
At a well attended Greene District meeting in the High School, residents approved revised campus plans from Stemson & Warm Inc of Waterloo. The bond issue would finance expanded spaces for music, industrial arts, cafeteria, gym, locker rooms, a bus barn, and four new classrooms on the west side, with a liaison committee named to work with the school board.

No time limit applies to trauma or combat related conditions or for former prisoners of war. Unemployment benefits must be sought within one year, and GI Bill education must begin within eight years. A course must start in time to finish within eight years.

Farmers to Report Earnings of Workers
Farmers in this area were reminded today that annual reports of the earnings of their farm workers are due in the office of the District Director of Internal Revenue by January 31, 1968. Farm employers who fail to file a yearly report on the earnings of their farm employees and to pay the social security taxes due are subject to penalties and interest charges on the unpaid taxes. Earl T. Johnson, Waterloo, social security district manager, and John Hanlon, District Director of Internal Revenue at Des Moines, noted that the earnings of most farm workers are covered under social security. A farm employee, to be covered, must be paid at least $150 in cash wages during the year by his employer, or work for the employer on 20 or more days during the year for cash wages figured on a time basis (rather than on a piece-rate basis). For 1967 the social security tax rate is 4.40 percent each for employer and employee on cash wages up to $6600. The tax amount must be entered on Form 943 (Employer's Annual Tax Return for Agricultural Employees) together with the total amount of cash wages paid to each farm worker. The completed form must be filed with the District Director of Internal Revenue at Des Moines, on or before January 31, 1968.
