Lawrence Leerhoff 62 of 1864 Independence Ave Waterloo died Monday at home of an apparent heart attack. Services were held Thursday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel Waterloo with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery Parkersburg. He was born November 22 1913 in Parkersburg son of Heiko and Alma Hoodjer Leerhoff. He married Ramona Sylvester in Greene May 23 1943. He worked at Bath Packing Co 16 years then farmed 10 years retiring in 1972. Survivors include his wife three brothers Heiko Clifford Clarence and two sisters Grace and Lela Leerhoff.

Fire destroys trailer at Andy Etzen farm
Greene firefighters responded at 5:30 a.m. to a trailer blaze at the Andy Etzen farm destroying the structure and its contents including citizen band radios and televisions. Investigators believe a malfunctioning furnace caused the fire as crews spent about two hours at the scene.
