The Greene Sportsman's Club hosts a free stag oyster supper for farmers landowners and tenants at Greene Community Center on Wednesday January 14 at 6 pm. At 7 30 pm Area Wildlife Biologist Dick Nomsen and Area Forester Bob Carpenter will show slides and discuss methods to improve pheasant habitat on local land. The event invites interested farmers landowners and tenants and argues that a larger pheasant population would benefit the area.

Mary Brocka, 87, whose maiden name was Endelman, had services on Lat., Dec. 27 at St. James Lutheran Church Allison conducted by Pastor Lowell Koch. Burial followed at Butler Center Cemetery. She was born Nov. 3, 1888, to Harry and Flora Endelman at Butler Center and married Otto Brocka Feb. 23, 1910. Survived by 9 children, 37 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, plus 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Preceded in death by her husband Otto in 1962, 2 sons Earnest and Floyd, 5 grandchildren, and 1 brother.
