Two School Buses Ditched by Icy Roads
Greene Community School buses escaped damage Tuesday morning when they partly slipped into the ditch due to icy roads. One bus driven by Mrs. Trene Mekhmen left the grade east of Greene by the Herman Stubbe farm while en route to pick up the first passenger. A second bus driven by Ralph Potter halted at the William Steere Jr. farm south of Greene and one wheel slid into the ditch as the bus could not move forward on the ice.

Funeral services were held for William Louis Salge at St John s Lutheran Church Wilmar. He died February 3 at Clark Nursing Home Greene after a stroke in January.
