Gertrude Tack 81 died at Lake Julia Rest Home Purposky Minnesota on Saturday December 5 after a stay since January 1963. Born Gertrude Flora March 4 1883 Greene daughter of Harvey and Jennie Flora she married Abraham Tack and moved to Bemidji in 1918. Surviving are five sons two daughters two brothers two sisters and 30 grandchildren. funeral services were held December 8 at Olson Funeral Home Bemidji with burial at Lakeview Cemetery Blackduck.

Iowa Highway Commission Announces Five Year Construction Plan
The Iowa State Highway Commission unveiled a five year program totaling 674 million dollars for 1965 to 1969. It allocates 436.4 million to construction including 275.23 million for four lane interstates and 161.19 million for primaries with relocations on major routes such as Iowa 3 at Shell Rock. Work on the Shell Rock River Bridge at Greene starts in 1966 and the Highway 14 over the bridge should be finished in 1967. The project relocates the highway to the northwest edge of Greene.

Former Greene Resident Hagarty Died in Tyndall
Frank Hagarty 1884 Greene native died Friday December 11 at his Tyndall South Dakota home from a heart attack. He married Helen Sevier in 1913. they lived in Avon a year and settled in Tyndall. Survived by wife Helen son Pat Marines officer daughter Mary Bethel Stule Avon eleven grandchildren two sisters and one brother. Funeral Mass at St Leo's Tyndall with burial nearby.
