Mr and Mrs G W Beadle and Mr and Mrs Bill Beadle and families attended a Tuesday dinner at the Hampton Cafe honoring Mr and Mrs Ed Lubkeman on their 21st wedding anniversary.
The Butler County Master Corn Growers contest top yield was 162.4 bushels per acre by Paul Kramer of Aredale on a 67 acre field. Twenty seven entries were collected from area farmers with prizes and medals to be awarded by the Iowa Crop Improvement Association at Ames.
Mrs Percy Merrill attended a Tuesday noon luncheon in Marshalltown and later visited Mr and Mrs Richard Merrill. On the way home they called on Mrs John Korthaus Sr at the Grundy Center Nursing Home for a brief visit.
