Deer Season Opens December 7 in Iowa Counties
Iowa’s 1957 shotgun deer season starts Saturday December 7 in all counties and runs through Sunday. Open to residents with special shotgun licenses, hunting is allowed daily 8 am to 4 pm with a bag and possession limit of one deer of either sex. Special deer tags must be attached before transport on highways. Farmers hunting on their land need no license but must tag deer for highway transport, tags available from the nearest conservation officer.
