The Woman's Club of Greene sponsors its annual Koffee Klatsch on Saturday December 4 at Mel's TV. Coffee is served 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Baked goods and foods, handmade bazaar items, corsages for each lady, and prizes throughout the day. Open invitation to see displays including a flocked tree. The Christmas of yesterday and today featured.
North Central Iowa moves toward an area community college under Senate File 550. Nine county boards approved the plan, with State Board of Public Instruction next to review. Upon approval a legal notice will announce the intended merged area in county newspapers. Also notes Steven J. Mead joined Alpha Gamma Rho at Iowa State University as a freshman veterinary student.

Eight Butler County townships held extension elections this month. New members serving two years are Robert Wamsley Jackson Merlin Lupkes Madison Robert Bruns Pittsford and Melvin Stoker West Point. Re-elected for two years are Paul Schoeman Beaver Lloyd Miller Butler Lloyd Laecey Jr Dayton and Harold Sutton Shell Rock.
November public assistance costs in Butler County totaled 28 931 dollars for 28 931 overall. Old Age Assistance paid 18 690 to 182 people Medical Aid to the Aged 727 for 45 cases Aid to Dependent Children 6 632 for 164 people Aid to Blind 1 088 for 8 cases and Aid to Disabled 1 794 for 21 people. The AD program shows rising medical costs and 15 new cases monthly while payment processing shifts from the fiscal agent to the State Department of Social Welfare starting November 1 1965.
Mr and Mrs Larry Williamson of Greenwich Connecticut announce the birth of a son named Lyle David born on Friday November 26. The infant weighed 61 pounds and is the grandson of Mrs Eva Oschendorf of Greenwich and Mrs Leora Williamson of Greene.

John McWhirter of Allison, savings bonds chairman, reports Butler County October sales of 31,681 on Series E and H. Ten-month total rises to 514,046, reaching 60 percent of the 1965 goal. National sales show October total 7,430,682 and ten-month 89,952,796, at 79 percent of its quota.
Mr and Mrs Ira McRoberts left Tuesday morning to spend the winter months in Phoenix Arizona.
Rambler wrestling coach Dougherty led a 34 to 14 victory over Nora Springs with pins by Leavens Thompson Trees Cheney and Allen, plus a 47 second pin by Allen in the 180 pound class. The B squad won 31 to 11, aided by forfeits in 108 112 and heavyweight. Rambler varsity also beat Nashua 25 to 17 with Trees and Allen delivering key pins. reserves fell 39 to 8. Next meet set for Rockford on December 10.

High School Math teachers from seven Butler County schools and Franklin County Hampton and Shefield met at Allison High School on November 23. Dr John Chelevold Wartburg College advised on progressing students from their current level. They discussed fourth year Math curricula and the March High School Math Contest sponsored by the Actuarial Association. The group agreed to continue the Butler County Enrichment Summer Math Course with emphasis on probability and specified eligibility including teachers recommendations. Guy Olson chaired. Laverne Kehoe and Albert Tinderholt attended from Greene.

Greene Ramblerettes beat Nora Springs 81 56 with Ann Rottler scoring 42 in a high scoring night as Keller and Willey set plays. Ramblers edged Nora Springs 76 68 in a tight boys game with balanced scoring led by Fischer Barth and Drake while Gabe and McRoberts contributed strong inside work.
