Mrs Paul Bucklen welcomed the Wednesday Bridge Club to her Marble Rock home for a one o'clock luncheon. Guests included Mrs Weldon Salt and Mrs Rudolph Schwartz. High at the bridge tables went to Mrs Clarence Adams with Mrs Stina Dahlen taking second place.
Marble Rock residents attended a Goetzinger family gathering in Fredricksburg honoring Mrs Lines parents Mr and Mrs Leo Goetzinger of Riverside California. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Otto Goetzinger of Des Moines Mr and Mrs Eldon Albany Loras and Larry of Dyersville Esther Goetzinger of Nashua Mr and Mrs Robert Goetzinger Nancy Goetzinger of Charles City and Mr and Mrs Ed Goetzinger with Mr and Mrs Earl Parcher and family of Marble Rock.

A proposal asks voters to authorize a tax not exceeding ½ mill for five years for building grounds, equipment, libraries, and to maintain or expand the area vocational school or community college. Mr and Mrs Dedrick Bullemer of Wapello visited his mother Mrs Eloise Bullemer. Numerous relatives gathered in Mason City Ames Fort Dodge and Charles City for Sunday and midweek calls. Residents including Verne Lines and Lyla Lines traveled for hospital visits and recovery, with others visiting Leo Wood and extended family across Leroy Rochester Greene Garner and Newton.
