A benefit baseball game postponed from last night to next Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds diamond will raise funds for Marvin Nolte of Dumont who was seriously injured during a Butler County Fair game. Parkersburg's Butler County League champions will face an all-star county team from Allison Dumont Greene Shell Rock and Clarksville. Nolte helped Dumont tie for second behind Shell Rock in the league standings and was struck in the head by a pitched ball during the fair finals on August 4. He is hospitalized in Hampton and will remain home for some time. The all-star lineup includes players from the five towns.

Jimmy Viers a 242 year old son of Airman First Class and Mrs. Jim Viers of Anchorage Alaska was hospitalized at El mandorf Air Force Base Hospital after drinking turpentine at a neighbor’s home. Some entered his lungs causing an infection. He was placed in an oxygen tent and fed intravenously. He is the grandson of Mr and Mrs Gene Viers.
